SAFETY AND ORIENTATION CLASS These classes are required of all members and may be completed at any time prior to renewal. These classes are listed on the schedule and there should be sufficient classes for everyone to be able to take one.

FROM THE PRESIDENT’S CORNER

With 2008 better than half gone, our club is in pretty good shape.
Range repairs are all but done. This fall we plan to renovate the club room. The west wall will be moved inward to make more room on the firing line.
We are planning a swap meet for members and guests only on October 18th from 8 AM to 3 PM. Bring any shooting or knife related items and your own table. Keith will be cooking hamburgers and hot dogs. You are invited to bring something to go with the meal.
No shooting that day.
I would like to encourage all members to come out and join us on Thursday evenings and take part in all the fun. We are considering separating out the different skill levels of shooters so that more folks can be winners and share in the$$$$. So come on out.
I ask that all members who shoot regularly and are more experienced, help the newer shooters. New shooters, don’t be afraid to ask for help. All of us are more than willing to give you a hand in acquiring and learning new skills. We were there once, ourselves.
A big thank you to all the members who helped this year and helped out so that we could have a better place to shoot.

Come on out and enjoy the newest addition to the club’s inventory of goodies. This is the new Caldwell “Shootin’ Gallery” from Midway USA.
It’s a battery operated, carnival style device. The batteries are said to run about 2 hours. The eight, chain driven steel targets, (four are exposed at a time) are a challenging two inches in diameter and move left to right and reset after completing the circuit around the rear of the frame. They are chain driven and should provide lots of fun. Remember .22 only. It’s not made for heavier calibers.
We’ll have this out for your shooting pleasure very soon. Maybe we ought to have a “most hits before missing contest”
RED LIGHTS MEAN DON’T SHOOT!!!!
We’ll be installing a couple of red lights on the firing line. These lights, when activated will mean that you should clear you gun, insert open bolt indicator and lay the gun on the table.
Also, do not under any circumstances go behind the rubber mats. You could wind up as a statistic.
Lead cleaning will be done at specified times
INFORMATION ABOUT THE QUIVERA GUN CLUB
The Quivera Gun Club is located at 3232 Airport Rd. Our 50 foot indoor range has 10 firing points. We are a 100% NRA club, and membership in that organization is a prerequisite to membership in the club.
Annual dues, after the initiaton fee and key card key are $75.00. All memberhips expire on December 31st of each year. New members are required to complete an application for membership and can expect to have their application voted on at the next monthly meeting. These meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month. Applicants need to send their paperwork along with a check for $110.00. This includes $75.00 for the first year's dues, a $25.00 initiation fee and $10.00 for the cost of the key card which is needed for access to the club building. Mail to: Quivera, Inc.
